Speed dating in Munster with Velo Promotions is geared mainly towards graduates, professional and mature people; busy people with no time to waste in noisy pubs and clubs looking for a partner.
Speed dating is definitely an easier and better option and an alternative worth trying.

Speed dating with Velo is a great way to meet new people, expand your social circle and really have a great night out. Meeting new people is always exciting and great fun.

At each speed dating event you will have between fifteen and twenty five mini dates in one night. It’s not called speed dating for nothing.

It’s simple and it works. On average more than 75% of people will get at least one match. Some of the lucky ones can get as many as 5 or 6 matches.

Let Velo organize everything. We will provide a suitable venue, with soft lighting, suitable background music and friendly staff with an emphasis on comfort, privacy, relaxation and, most of all, fun. We will endeavour to match age groups, etc.

All you have to do is turn up, go with the flow, be yourself and have a really great night out.

How does it work? We have 15/30 tables for two well spaced out with a couple seated at each table to begin with. After speaking with each other for 4 minutes approx the bell rings and all the gents pay their respects & move on to the next table. You eventually get to meet all of the other gents or ladies on the night with 1 or 2 breaks in between. Each person is given a number and a card to begin with. If (for instance) you would like to meet 6 of the gents or ladies again you tick off their numbers on the card and you hand the card up to the organiser at the end of the evening. The cards of the 6 people you ticked are examined & if (for instance) 3 of those had you ticked as well then you have 3 matches. In other words it's mutual, you agree to meet her and she agrees to meet with you. The following working day you are both given your matches including contact numbers. It is up to yourselves after that to make contact. See bottom of page for more information.

Velo Promotions are the only company providing a regular service to single people in Munster, especially the Cork region and have been doing so for over six years. We usually hold events every 2nd Sunday in Cork.

Does Speed Dating Work?
It is now a proven fact that speeddating works and that relationships formed through speeddating have a much better chance of surviving compared to other means. It has something to do with trusting your initial instincts!. Read the book. Title: BLINK. Author: Malcolm Gladwell.

However it might be wise to take Benjamin Franklin's advice:
'Keep your eyes wide open before marriage, half shut afterwards'. from "Poor Richard's Almanach".

Because it is impossible to please everyone and also because it is not feasible for us to ask people to produce birth certs we would suggest you keep within the age guide above. We realise the vast majority would prefer to meet somebody in their own age group and a certain amount of people have no problem with an age difference but there is a limit. We feel that it's not fair to have people turning up for the 30/40's event pretending to be in their 40's when they are really pushing 60. At least go for the 40/50's group. Back to top of page.

Because the demand has greatly exceeded our expectations we have had to tighten up on advance bookings while we wait for the cheque. We will only allow 3 working days for a cheque to arrive by post after which time we will give preference to on-line payments.

In other words, 1st come 1st served.

Speed dating can be a fast and effective way of meeting someone special and a great opportunity to broaden your circle of friends. At our speed dating events across Munster you will speed date up to 30 single and professional people at each event. We at Velo take great care when choosing our venues. We insist on having the exclusive use of a suitable room, usually modern, spacious, with suitable background music and, with a private bar and waiter service. The room must also have a romantic ambience with 20 – 30 tables for two, well spaced out ensuring that your conversations will be totally private. When you arrive you will be greeted by one of our speed dating hosts who will welcome you, put you at ease and occasionally offer you complimentary drinks at the speed dating reception. You will then be introduced to the other guests where you will mingle until the speed dating begins. After the speed dating you will hand in your Speed Ticket to your host. You will be informed of any matches you might have the next working day. The rest of the evening is your own and usually this can be the best part of the evening. Most of you will adjourn to the bar where you now have the opportunity to meet the same people again and possibly one or two that you might fancy.

Alie apologised for having to leave early due to personal reasons. She would love to have stayed because she thought the guys were all lovely and the crowd in general were a very nice group of people. Alie still managed a few matches after only 30 minutes. She promised to come again.

I'd much rtather the Hub to any of the hotels you used in the past Brendan. The venue is much more informal and more relaxed as a result. Keep up the good work. John
