The Hub (Private Bar)

We held our 1st event here on Sunday the 27th February 2011. This was a new departure for us really from our usual hotel scene. However because we have exclusive use of the complete premises we felt fairly confident of success. We have now been here for almost a year and our confidence has been rewarded. We met some old and created some new friends and acquaintances. All our events here are now going well .

The event for 30s & 40s on Sun 28th August 2011 was a turning point because Lauren, the proprietor, improved the lighting and general ambience of the Hub with dimmers, red lights and candles etc. It made a huge difference to the place and it was immediately obvious to everyone on entering. The feedback was great and it certainly helped the success of the night. Thanks Lauren. You surpassed yourself.

PLEASE NOTE: Exclusive use means what it says. The premises is not available to the general public and is only used for private functions etc. This makes the venue even more suitable than hotels etc where the chance of bumping into someone you know and having to explain yourself is virtually impossible..

Speeddating in hotels is usually great except for the fact that when having a drink in the public bar etc during the break or after the event the 'Speeddating Group' often creates more than its fair share of interest amongst the other clientele. This can obviously be embarrassing for some. That is why we always insist on a private bar for our events.

Cork International Airport Hotel.

We held our 1st event here on Sunday 21st March '10 and we had a great night. This is a very different hotel to the norm and definitely worth a visit.

The hotels striking aviation-themed interior and avant-garde design help to set the hotel apart. The decor is very unusual here with an aviation theme running right through the hotel. The lighting is also very psychedelic and reminiscint of the 60s. Definitely worth a visit.

A word of thanks to the staff who really went out of their way to help and especially to the bar staff who gave great waiter service during the event.

Imperial Hotel, Cork.

Early in 2010 we ran a number of events here and found the Imperial to be an excellent choice. We have a choice of a number of different sized rooms. The Hotel is situated in the centre of the city and close to all the major late night pubs and nightclubs. We hope to possibly use the Imperial again this year.

Ambassador Hotel Cork.

Since the beginning of 2005 we have been using the Ambassador Hotel, Military Hill, St. Lukes, Cork for our Speeddating events. We are obviously very happy with the venue and so are our clients. Since September of 2007 we ran events every second Sunday (for most of the year) and it has been a great success. The Ambassador Hotel was definitely a great choice. For a number of reasons we were forced to look for alternative venues. However we hope to use the Ambassador again.

Tower Hotel Waterford

We held our 1st event in Waterford on Thursday 31st January'08 for 30's & 40's. The event was sold out and a great night. We've been there on numerous occasions since and always enjoy going back to the Tower. We always get a great welcome where the bar staff, managers on duty and especially Deirdre Hickey always go out of their way to help. The rooms and the table service provided is always fantastic & very much appreciated. We had our 1st event of 2010 on Paddys Eve 16th March.

Killarney is one of our favourite spots and the Killarney Avenue is the ideal venue for speeddating. We had our 1st event there on 19th June '09.
